Dear colleague,

I am pleased to invite you to the upcoming face-to-face Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics “Teach the Teacher” (CP4T) course in Amsterdam (Amsterdam UMC, location VUmc) on 13-14 May 2025. This course, organised by the Erasmus+ CP4T consortium in collaboration with the Erasmus+ PlanED Prescribing (Planetary Health Education in Prescribing) consortium, will focus on curriculum development and implementation of curriculum changes. The course builds on our previous successful educational events where we explored topics such as assessment in CPT education, AI and diversity in prescribing education, the flipped classroom and the (new) Guide to Good Prescribing. Building on this momentum, our upcoming two-day symposium promises to be equally insightful and engaging. The course is being organised in collaboration with the EACPT Education Working Group.

About the Course:

This two-day module explores the key aspects of curriculum development and implementation of curriculum changes for clinical pharmacology and therapeutics (CPT) education. We will focus on practical strategies for designing, adapting and improving curricula, with particular emphasis on the integration of current topics such as Team-Based Learning (TBL) and Planetary Health Education. Through interactive sessions, participants will gain hands-on experience in integrating these principles in their own teaching environments. The course will include presentations of good practices, expert-led discussions, collaborative workshops and case studies to ensure a comprehensive understanding of effective curriculum innovation. Participants will also have the opportunity to network with peers and share best practice in an interactive environment.

Special Events:

We have aligned the course dates with an important academic event: Chiel Bakkum’s PhD defence on the European Open Platform for Prescribing Education on 14 May, which will be the afternoon programme of this course day. We are also planning a networking dinner and party on the evening of 14 May in Zaandam (the home town of Chiel Bakkum) to celebrate our community and foster collaboration.

The programme:

Tuesday May 13
Morning: Tips and Tools for CPT curriculum development/changes
Afternoon: Integrating Planetary Health in a CPT curriculum

Wednesday May 14
Morning: Integrating Team-Based Learning and OSCE’s in a CPT curriculum
Afternoon: PhD defence Chiel Bakkum (European Open Platform for Prescribing Education)
Evening: Dinner and party in Zaandam

More detailed information about the course will be sent to you soon after registration.

We recommend choosing a hotel either nearby the Vrije Universiteit or within the city center (or in-between). Tram lines between the city center and Vrije Universiteit are number 5 and 24 and are very frequent (as well as numerous bus lines). Additionally, metro and train station Amsterdam Zuid is situated at 10 minutes walking distance. Public transport can be checked via http://9292.nl/en

Reimbursements:

Participants from outside the Netherlands are eligible for reimbursement of expenses incurred in attending the event up to a maximum of €250. Dutch participants can receive a maximum of €100. Each participant who comes to Amsterdam will receive information later on how to obtain this refund.

Looking forward to your participation and the valuable contributions you will bring to our learning community.

Best regards,

Also on behalf of the CP4T and PlanED Prescribing consortium,
